Stop the US Forest Service from shooting wolves from helicopters in National Forests
Tell the Forest Service: "I Oppose Shooting Wolves from Helicopters and Poisoning Predators in Wilderness Areas" The U.S. Forest Service wants to allow wolves to be shot from helicopters and to repeal existing restrictions on poisoning predators such as wolves, foxes, coyotes, and mountain lions. The proposal would allow these "predator control" activities in designated Wilderness and Research Natural Areas, which are the two most protective land classifications in the National Forest System. WHAT YOU CAN DO: The public only has until September 7 to send in comments on the proposed rule change. The Forest Service needs to hear from you on how you want your national forests managed. Please send an e-mail message to the Forest Service at: PDM@fs.fed.us Read moreCollapse )

Alaska's majestic gray wolves are in grave danger. Marksmen use low-flying planes to chase the wolves, run them to exhaustion and shoot them to death at point-blank range. More than 150 wolves have already been killed this year!

Help us Save America's Wolves! Sign the petition below to urge the Bush administration to end the brutal slaughter of these magnificent animals by enforcing the Federal Airborne Hunting Act.

Hundreds of Idaho wolves are at risk in Idaho, where in 2001 legislators passed a measure calling for the elimination of wolves "by any means necessary."

Fill out the form below to urge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Serviceto deny Idaho’s recent requests to kill wolves in the Clear Water Basin and in areas where they are still protected under the Endangered Species Act.

I don't think I've seen this photographer posted here.
If it has been, my apologies.

This photographer, Carl Cook... his work, to me, is breathtaking. His wolves can be found here:

He specifically says not to use them online, so I am not posting a preview pic. Really, I've never seen photos of wolves that were so beautiful.

Newcomer and some wolf hybrid pics
Hi, all! I'm thrilled to have found this community, since I can never ever get enough pictures of wolves. ;)

I share my life with 3 wolf hybrids and love to take pictures of them. The community description dosen't specify whether or not hybrid pics are welcome here, but I thought that I would share a few of my better ones.

Does anyone know about wolf hybrid LJ communities?

Hello everyone, this is my first post. Wolves have always been a very special animal and totem to me, since childhood. I am a studio art student in college, and this school will soon have a totally new and top of the line photography lab set up, so I will have the resources I need to keep practicing photography! Until then, I will enjoy looking at the pictures others take! Also, since animal are mainly always what I ue for subjects in my art work, I may ask some of you if I can use some of your photos as referance for work that I will gladly share with you, if not thats fine too! thanks!

first post
Hello everybody !

It's my first post here, so, hi :)
I'm a wolf lover from France, and went to a park this week, I wanted to share my first photographs for my first post here :

I know it's a bad photo, I'll try to take better ones next week.

The Courzieu park isn't that bad for the wolves, they've got a bit of space, even if its still small.
But I've seen worst :/

Nice to meet you all!
